The first Thursday of every month, at 7:00 AM (that’s in the morning, just to be clear) I host a Banned Book Club on Zoom for People’s United Methodist Church. We read books that have been banned for a wide variety of reasons, exploring the what and why of their censorship, and dealing with the growing trend to ban/burn books in our country, especially in this almost post-pandemic period. You are cordially invited to join us if you would like. This month’s book is John Green’s, Looking for Alaska. Here is the link for February 1: People’s Banned Book Club. On March 4, our book will be Sherman Alexie’s, The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian.
