If you are not aware (or could care less…) I am going to host a monthly book discussion group, FaithQuest Book Club, and our launch will be October 7 at 7:30 EST/6:30 CST with a discussion about David Bentley Hart’s That All Shall Be Saved: Heaven, Hell and a Universal Salvation. If you would like to participate, bookmark this page, then return and click here: FaithQuest Book Club. Reading the book will certainly be helpful and worthwhile, but even if you don’t read the book, don’t hesitate to join the discussion. I am basing my questions for discussion on Hart’s work, but the conversation will be wide open and inclusive of multiple opinions.

Here are some questions for reflection as you prepare to join our discussion:
- What is your conception of hell?
- Where did your understanding of hell come from?
- How do you reconcile a loving God with the concept of eternal damnation?
- What lasting benefit do you believe hell provides?
- How do you understand the devil?
- What is your theodicy? (Understanding of the existence of evil allowed/instigated by a loving God)
- What happens when we die?
Yes, I know, these are all simple, pedestrian questions that won’t take an entire hour to discuss, but what can I say? We need to start somewhere. I hope and pray you will put October 7 at 7:30 EST/6:30 CST on your calendar and will join the fun.

Our November selection will be Abundance by Ezra Klein and Derek Thompson. While focusing on the major points raised in this book, we will also do a theological reflection on the implications for our future, for our society, and for our world. This is an insightful and compelling look at what we need to do today to prepare ourselves for the days to come!
