Just a reminder that tomorrow evening (October 7) I am launching the monthly book discussion group, FaithQuest Book Club. The Zoom conversation will begin at 7:30 EST/6:30 CST with a look at David Bentley Hart’s That All Shall Be Saved: Heaven, Hell and a Universal Salvation. If you would like to participate, bookmark this page, then return and click here: FaithQuest Book Club. Reading the book will certainly be helpful and worthwhile, but even if you don’t read the book, don’t hesitate to join the discussion. I am basing my questions for discussion on Hart’s work, but the conversation will be wide open and inclusive of multiple opinions.
We will tackle such simple questions as:
- What is your conception of hell?
- Where did your understanding of hell come from?
- How do you reconcile a loving God with the concept of eternal damnation?
- What lasting benefit do you believe hell provides?
- How do you understand the devil?
- What is your theodicy? (Understanding of the existence of evil allowed/instigated by a loving God)
- What actually does happen when we die?
